Reeva Steenkamp’s wish to grace the pages of Vanity Fair has posthumously come true on her 40th birthday. The model – who was shot and killed by her boyfriend Oscar Pistorius a decade ago – would have celebrated the milestone occasion on 19 August.
In celebration of her birthday, the Italian fashion mag shared a special feature in her honour.

REEVA STEENKAMP GETS A VANITY FAIR ITALY FEATURE
In a beautiful spread, Vanity Fair Italy shared their privilege in granting Reeva Steenkamp’s wish. The blonde beauty was just 29 years old when her life was tragically cut short by her boyfriend of three months, Oscar Pistorius.
The publication says of the late model’s parents, June and Barry Steenkamp: “They tell us that one of Reeva’s biggest dreams was to be featured in Vanity Fair, and we’re happy to be able to make it happen.”
The Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation – dedicated to helping victims of gender-based violence – posted on Instagram: “Thank you for making Reeva’s dream a reality. It is incredibly special.”

In the feature, Reeva Steenkamp’s parents spoke about her life and legacy, which lives on through her foundation.
According to June, Reeva would have celebrated her 40th birthday by helping others. She told the publication: “She knew that the modeling career would not last forever. Today she would use her fame to defend women and men, promoting laws against violence and abuse of all kinds”.

JUNE AND BARRY CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY
And while a feature in one of the world’s biggest fashion magazines was a cause of celebration itself, June and Barry could not let the day end without a birthday party for their guardian angel Reeva.
In pics posted on social media, the elderly couple were all smiles for the bittersweet birthday celebration.
