The Huntsville area’s business community welcomed some new neighbors recently, with five new business openings announced in and around the Rocket City.
Here’s what we know about these new business openings in the Huntsville area:
1. Old Black Bear Brewing (Athens)
Old Black Bear, a Madison-based craft brewery with a large and loyal following in the Huntsville area, has opened a new location in Athens. The new location, on Marion Street in Athens, features the same delicious menu and tasty craft beer folks in Madison have loved for years.
2. Trashy Dawg
After a great deal of talk on when this new spot in Bridge Street would open, the new eatery has officially opened its doors. This is one of the most anticipated new business openings we have had this year, and well worth the wait.
3. The Veggie
The Veggie opened its first location in Lowe Mill in 2021 after the business spent three years as a meal prep delivery service and pop-up shop. Chef Adyre Mason, who was featured on the first vegan episode of The Food Network’s “Beat Bobby Flay,” hopes to connect people with delicious and nutritious food.
4. Lil Capone’s Italian Bar + Grill
This is another one of the new business openings that has us really excited. A favorite in Florence, Lil Capones Italian Bar & Grill is opening a Huntsville location soon on University Drive — in the space formerly occupied by Big Shakes — to serve the Rocket City community with fabulous Italian food.
5. Spirit Halloween (Bridge Street)
Spirit Halloween is known for bringing life back to vacant buildings during the fall season. You can find its Huntsville location at Bridge Street where the former Bed Bath + Beyond space.
